Description:
In recent years, there has been a notable increase in research activities related to OFG systems. In continuation of the previous training school focused on numerical modelling, this 3-day training school aims to offer training in OFG investigation based on borehole data which allow acquisition of sub-seafloor in-situ parameters to better characterize the distribution and current dynamics of OFG systems. The course will introduce principles and methods of geophysics and drilling imaging, and borehole hydrogeology. The methods will be discussed in relation to the characterization of OFGs. The training targets doctoral students, young researchers and innovators, and anyone working on OFGs.
Objectives:
- Bring all participants to a common understanding of borehole data applied to OFG
- Introduce basic borehole geophysical and imaging tools and their applications
- Introduce geochemical analyses sampling and interpretation principles
- Develop a network of leading experts in OFG research
